SENTIR
THERAPY TO GUIDE YOU THROUGH LIFE’S LANDSCAPES
Gino Mazzotti, MS, MAEd, LMHCA (pending)
Welcome to my therapy practice. I know taking the first step towards seeking mental health support is significant, and often the hardest part. I recognize the effort it took, and I'm glad you're here.
You might be wondering, what does Sentir (Sen-teer) mean? It’s a Spanish verb meaning to feel, sense, or experience. I chose this name because it perfectly captures the essence of what therapy can offer you: a deeper, richer engagement with all that life has to offer.
Therapy is about more than just managing challenges; it's about unlocking your capacity to fully feel and experience the depth and breadth of your emotions, your relationships, and the world around you. It's about reconnecting with your inner landscape, understanding its complexities, and learning to navigate it with confidence.

Anxiety is a common human experience characterized by feelings of worry, nervousness, or unease, often about an event or something with an uncertain outcome. While occasional anxiety is normal, persistent or overwhelming anxiety can significantly impact daily life. Depression is more than just feeling sad; it's a persistent state of low mood, loss of interest, and often a lack of energy that can significantly impair daily functioning. It can affect your thoughts, feelings, behavior, and even physical health. I offer compassionate support to help you understand the roots of your depression and develop strategies to regain hope and find a path toward healing and well-being.

Navigating life as a Queer individual can involve unique challenges related to identity, acceptance, discrimination, and societal pressures. These experiences can impact mental health and well-being in significant ways. As a gay man, I have worked through many of these issues in therapy myself. I provide a safe, affirming, and understanding environment to explore these issues, address any related mental health concerns, and support you in living authentically and with pride.

The Latin community has a rich tapestry of cultural values, traditions, and strengths, yet also faces unique stressors such as acculturation, immigration concerns, discrimination, and intergenerational dynamics. These factors can significantly impact mental health and well-being. I offer culturally sensitive therapy to explore these experiences, address mental health challenges within a cultural context, and support you in navigating these complexities while honoring your identity.

These issues can include navigating societal pressures around masculinity, managing emotions in healthy ways, addressing relationship difficulties, or processing experiences of trauma. Therapy offers a safe and confidential space to explore these experiences, challenge limiting beliefs, and develop greater self-awareness and healthier coping strategies.

Common Topics I Work Through with Clients
What to Expect From Counseling
In our first session, we'll explore what's been happening in your life and what you're hoping to gain from therapy. We'll discuss your goals and what success looks like to you. This will help focus our efforts and guide our journey together. At the heart of our work is creating a therapeutic relationship where you feel safe, accepted, and comfortable enough to be curious and explore all aspects of yourself.
In our initial conversation and throughout our work, I aim to create a genuine and often lighthearted space to mindfully explore your thoughts and feelings. My approach is informed by the intersection of my identities. I believe that when we both bring our authentic selves into this space and feel able to be open, our work together can be the most transformative and beneficial for you.
